What services do you offer?
We offer full grooms, bath & brush services, puppy grooming, nail clipping, ear cleaning, de-shedding treatments, and hand stripping for suitable breeds.
How much does grooming cost?
Prices vary depending on breed, coat condition, behaviour, and the service required. Please contact us for a personalised quote.
How often should my dog be groomed?
This depends on breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Most dogs benefit from grooming every 4–8 weeks to keep their coat healthy and mat-free.
Do I need to stay during the appointment?
No, most owners drop off and return once grooming is complete. We’ll contact you when your dog is ready for collection.
Some doggy parents do prefer to stay, and if course this is welcomed too.
How long does an appointment take?
Most appointments take between 1-1:45 hours depending on your dog’s size, coat condition, and the service booked.

Does my puppy need grooming?
Yes. Early grooming helps puppies get comfortable with handling, brushing, bathing, and the salon environment. We recommend starting once vaccinations are complete.
Do you groom anxious or nervous dogs?
Yes — we work patiently and calmly with nervous dogs and always aim to make grooming a positive experience. Please let us know in advance if your dog is anxious or reactive.
Can you groom large breeds?
Yes — we groom dogs of all sizes, from tiny puppies to larger breeds.
Can I request a specific style or haircut?
Absolutely. Feel free to bring photos or describe the look you’d like, and we’ll do our best to achieve it.
What products do you use?
All our shampoo and grooming products are sulphate-free with dog-friendly essential oils, suitable for sensitive skin and different coat types. If your dog has allergies or skin conditions, please let us know.
Are vaccinations required?
We ask that all dogs have had their puppy vaccinations as recommended by your vet. For adult dogs that are not up to date, those that are Titre tested are welcome.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. See cancellation policy
What happens if my dog’s coat is matted?
Severe matting can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful for dogs. In some cases, clipping short is the safest and kindest option. We’ll always discuss this with you before proceeding.
Will my dog be caged?
No. We keep dogs safe and comfortable while they wait.
What happens if fleas are discovered during my dog’s groom?
If fleas are discovered during your dog’s appointment, we will discuss the situation with you before proceeding.
Unfortunately, there are currently no flea-treatment shampoos that are both effective and considered safe for use within a professional grooming environment, so we do not offer flea treatments as part of our grooming services.
As Beau Chien is a one-to-one grooming salon, the discovery of fleas may require us to alter the appointment or, in some cases, cancel it and return your dog home. This allows us to protect other dogs and maintain a clean, hygienic salon environment.
Where fleas are found, we may need to schedule your dog as the final appointment of the day so that a thorough salon decontamination can be carried out afterwards. This is important because fleas and their eggs can be introduced into the environment during grooming, particularly when coat blasting and drying are required.
If fleas are identified, we recommend seeking advice from your veterinary practice regarding suitable treatment options for both your dog and home environment before rebooking a grooming appointment.
